Yousef Ahadi is a self-taught woodworker, working alone in his Richmond BC workshop. He crafts his furniture mostly from walnut, maple and pine.His contemporary approach to woodworking is based on closeness to nature and comfort. He prefers exposed joinery and hand rubbed mixtures of oil and varnish.

I leave a bit of myself in each piece, says Yousef. I leave a part of my soul.

Yousef creates almost two dozen pieces a year, mainly focusing on chairs and wooden chests. His work is displayed at the BC Wood Coop on Granville Island in Vancouver BC.
